This wedding was my first experience as a second shooter! The Atlanta-based photographer Derek Wintermute contacted me to be his sidekick for the day as we documented a truly magnificent wedding that started at Forest Hills Baptist Church and concluded at the GORGEOUS State Club (N.C. State's Alumni Club). It was challenging in that Derek works with an intricate lighting setup, so I primarily utilized natural and ambient light sources, even when there was little to be found! It was a unique experience in that I got to disappear into the background and really capture some of the more intimate and candid moments of the evening. These included a no-flash candle-lit ceremony, awesome entrances into the reception from the bride, groom and parties, choreographed dances, the AMAZING bride's rendition of "All I want for Christmas" for her ecstatic new hubby, simulated snow, a FULL ice cream bar with all the toppings, and a whole lot more! It was such a great opportunity to work with Derek, the sweet bride and the charming groom. What a day that will never be forgotten!!
