I met my couple this past Sunday at St. Mark's Church in Mordecai Historic Park. Have you been here? It is oozing with historic relevance to this great state we call ours. Not only is The Mordecai House (the yellow one in the pictures below) the oldest house in Raleigh, this was also the location of our 17th president's, Andrew Johnson's, birth over 200 years ago! What a fantastic find for the bride and groom.
When I first arrived, the rain was pouring down, but it didn't make anyone frown! The smiles and kindness were abundant, and by the time we started taking portraits, the rain had mostly given way to a beautiful afternoon with a soft breeze! I'd say we beat the summer's heat without question for a mid-July wedding. It was an intimate and lovely ceremony--Just perfect! I even got to sneak in some whimsical shots like the last photo with rain-drop covered leaves and a beautiful bride. Thank you for letting me share your day! Also, thanks to The Wedding Woman for the beautiful flowers!
